General Terms And Conditions
- Personal Accident Insurance available at a daily rate of US$7.00
- All major credit cards accepted including Discover Cards
- Persons that are hearing impaired will not be allowed to drive our vehicles as our insurers currently do not provide coverage.
- Drivers must be between the ages of 21 and 75 years of age and between 25-75 in order to drive vans, buses and luxury SUV's plus Toyota Camry and Honda Accord
- Drivers under 23 years will attract an age surcharge of US$6.00 per day
- Drivers 21 and 22 years of age cannot rent either FCAR or LCAR groups
- Driver's License must be at least 1 year old for persons between the ages of 23 – 75 years and 3 years for persons under 23 years. For buses, vans and luxury SUVs the persons Driver’s Licence must be a minimum of 3 years old.
- General Driver's License required to operate buses
- One additional driver allowed free of charge, any other drivers cost US$3.00 per day per driver
- All Drivers must be listed on Rental Agreement or the Insurance becomes null and void
- General Consumption Tax G.C.T. - 15% charged on Time & Mileage only
- 10% Airport Recovery Fee charged on the time and mileage
- Unlimited free mileage / kilometers
- The Hirer is liable for any damage/loss to the rented vehicle, however, we offer Damage to Vehicle Waiver D.V.W. that can either limit or eliminate your liability, whichever option suits you best. The rates / deposits are outlined below.
- Free delivery and Pick up service available within a one-mile radius of any of our three locations
- Deliver/Pick up service can be arranged for other locations on request. There may be a nominal fee depending on the location. Check with our Agent for further information.
- Baby seats available – US$5.00 per day
- WIFI Hotspot – US$14.00 per day / Security Deposit US$200.00
- Windshield Tyre Protection Fee (WTPF) – US$4.00 per day

Insurance/Collision Damage Waiver
The purchase of Collision Damage Waiver is not mandatory. However, the following are guidelines if this option is considered.
If the renter wishes to decline to purchase our CDW, which is not insurance but a Waiver, a deposit equal to the full value of the rental vehicle will be required as the hirer will be accepting full liability for all loss/damage. This deposit could be up to US$40,000.00 depending on the category of vehicle and it applies whether the renter is using third party coverage purchased online or their own personal insurance. If they do take this option, renters must make their own claim with their insurance providers to recover any charges we make for damage/loss to the rented vehicle.
Additionally, some credit cards offer the benefit of collision damage coverage in Jamaica i.e., cardholders can decline to purchase CDW. Again, if they use such a card, the cardholder is accepting full liability for all loss/damage to the rented vehicle. For cards issued in North America, we will take a nominal deposit of US$1,000.00 towards loss/damage. If loss/damage exceeds that amount, the balance will be called through on the card. The cardholder, in turn, must make a claim for reimbursement of all charges we make for loss/damage from the card insurers. For European issued cards that offer full coverage, we will take a deposit equal to the value of the car which could be up to US$40,000.00 depending on the category of vehicle. The renter must make their own claim for reimbursement with the card insurers.
Personal Accident Insurance (PAI) and Glass and Tire Waiver are optional products.

Emergency Breakdown/Roadside Service:
Island Car Rental offers a 24-hour emergency breakdown service that no other local car rental company can match. What this means is that, if any of our clients encounter problems anywhere on the Island, no matter what time of day, or night, we will come and get them or get assistance to them.
Meeting Arrangement:
Island Car Rentals operate in-terminal facilities at both International Airports.
After clearing customs, go to the Island Car Rentals desk.
Drivers Restrictions:

Insurance:
Third party Coverage- This coverage is included in the rental rates.
Details of Coverage: It covers death, injury or hospitalisation to the passengers in a vehicle other than the hired vehicle should an accident occur. This also covers damage caused by the hired vehicle to another vehicle or property.
Damage to Vehicle Waiver:
D.V.W.: The Hirer is responsible for the full cost of damage/loss to the rented vehicle. This can be reduced or eliminated by the two Options of D.V.W. shown above.
IF BOTH OF THE ABOVE OPTIONS ARE DECLINED, THEN WE WOULD REQUIRE A DEPOSIT AMOUNTING TO THE VALUE OF THE HIRED VEHICLE AS THAT WOULD BE THE CLIENT'S LIABILITY IN CASE OF DAMAGE/LOSS, UNLESS ONE OF THE CREDIT CARDS MENTIONED BELOW IS USED.
Credit Card Auto Coverage: Some MasterCard Gold and Diners Club Credit Cards offer a full Comprehensive Auto Insurance that covers damage/loss to the rented vehicle. If a client were using one of these cards there would be no charge for D.V.W. and a $500 deposit required.
Tire Protection can be purchased for $3 per day for qualified clients with above credit cards
(This coverage is only accepted on cards issued out of North America. Visa Gold and American Express Gold cards issued in Canada also offers this Auto coverage)
Personal Accident Insurance:
This can be purchased at a daily rate of (P.A.I.) up to US$5.00. It covers the driver and up to four passengers in the hired vehicle in case of injury.

Inter-City Fee:
There is no charge for pick up of vehicle from one Branch and returning to a different Branch. There is a fee to have a car delviered to and picked up from the aforementioned areas.
Credit Cards:
We accept all major credit cards including Discover Card.
Petrol:
Pay deposit for full tank of petrol and return same for refund. (This deposit varies between US$30.00 and US$50.00 depending on the vehicle).
Rates Valid:
The rental rates attached are valid until December 14, 2024. The arrival date determines which season rate applies.
